In a surprise ceremony on May 24, Berenyi announced the winner of its Teacher Love Staycation Sweepstakes at James Island Elementary School where the winner, Crissy Dillahey works as a 4thd grade teacher making a positive impact in the lives of her students. In partnership with Principal Gregory, Berenyi surprised Ms. Dillahey with a Staycation prize package valued at $5000 during a ceremony that took place her classroom.
Launched on April 29, the Teacher Love Staycation Sweepstakes invited students, parents, and the entire Charleston County community to nominate their favorite teacher and share their personal stories of gratitude and love for the role that teacher plays in their life, gifting that beloved teacher a chance to win a summer’s worth of Charleston adventures. Ms. Dillahey, who received multiple nominations, was chosen, at random, as the sweepstakes winner. As the winner, she will be honored as a “tourist in her hometown” during the upcoming 2024 summer school vacation season.
The Staycation Sweepstakes program was created as part of Berenyi’s ongoing commitment to education, supporting administrators and teachers in the critical work they do to build the next-gen workforce. The package includes: two-nights’ accommodations at The Dewberry, one of the city’s most renowned, luxury hotels, pampering treatments at the Dewberry’s renowned spa, dinner for 2 at the world famous Slightly North of Broad Restaurant, Charleston County Parks GOLD Pass, Credit One Stadium Concert Tickets, Palmetto Breeze Charter Tickets, Charlston Battery Soccer Game Tickets, 2-hrs at both Topgolf and Crush Yard Pickleball Court, a seasonal pass to Power Yoga Studio, and passes to Charleston Aquarium, International African Museum and Charleston Museum.
“Our team has been working on this program for months and were excited to meet our winner and present her with not only an exciting prize package, but the many heart-felt nominations she received as part of our sweepstakes,” said Jordan Behringer, Berenyi’s managing partner. “Our friends at The Dewberry have graciously contributed to the prize package, and we commend them for making teachers a priority and recognizing their important work. Our world-class city is known for its warm hospitality, and together with The Dewberry we hope to wrap Ms. Dillahey in some of that warmth with our collective gratitude.
Residents of Charleston County submitted nomination forms at www.Berenyi.com from April 29 through May 17. Although only Ms. Dillahey was presented with the winning prize package, all nominees will receive the nominations forms submitted on their behalf to ensure each teacher shares in the Teacher Love experience, and they learn of the valuable impact they have on their students.
