Expansion Project

This summer, Continental tire broke ground in celebration of a 126,000 square-foot expansion of its existing manufacturing facility in Sumter, SC. The new space will accommodate additional extrusion and tire-build equipment for increased efficiency based on current and future capacity needs. Berenyi has been retained to provide construction management services that support and uphold the client’s interest relative to project budget, schedule, safety, quality, and production. Whether it’s a permitting issue, weather-related delays, change orders or material procurement delays, the Berenyi team will mitigate any challenge with timely, innovative solutions to ensure a successful project outcome. Project completion is projected for Fall 2023, when the new extruder will be fully operational.

Continental Tire Sumter plant, South Carolina, a tire manufacturing facility of Continental Tire the Americas, LLC, produces high-quality, premium lines of passenger and light truck tires for original equipment and replacement markets. Having a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with a growing team of approximately 1,300 employees, the Sumter Plant is IATF 16949:2016 certified, ISO 14001 certified and a zero-landfill facility.
