Jaw Crusher Replacement

Lake Charles, Louisiana

Berenyi Incorporated was contacted by Fluor, in alliance with ALCOA in Lake Charles Louisiana, to design and detail a new mechanical system and foundation system centered on their newly ordered Jaw Crusher. The existing 112,000 pound Jaw Crusher and associated platforms were in need of replacement. Berenyi designed the new systems to accommodate the new 40,000 pound Jaw Crusher and platforms. The new equipment receives feed material from the same conveying systems as originally used.

As the project moved forward, construction in a timely and efficient manner became critical. Our relationship with ALCOA and Fluor allowed us to quickly mobilize to begin work. December 1, 2011 we were on site and schedules called for us to remove the old crusher, its platforms and foundations, and rebuild the new foundations. The new crusher was set onto the new plinth in January. After the crusher was set the assembly of access platforms and chutework was started. The entire project was completed in early March 2012.
